Updating library catalog
For Bethesda and White Oak customers: to ensure that your holds are sent to the branch location of your choice during the refresh projects at these branches, please follow the instructions under Using My Account, My Holds: Edit Pick Up Location.Once you make this change, your holds will be sent to your new location.Your catalog account needs to be able to sync with a record for you in your library's database of eligible borrowers. If the library no longer has you in their database, they will have to re-add you.If your library affiliation, borrower ID (barcode number) or last name has changed, you will need to re-profile your catalog account. When you profile different accounts with the same home library, borrower ID, and last name, any of your accounts will give you the same requesting privileges from I-Share libraries and the same access to information about your library activities.
If you have the most recent version of Firefox on your computer, you will notice this in two places. An account in the library catalog allows you to use the functions of the library catalog itself, which include adding tags, requesting items, renewing items and viewing a list of your checked out items.Ask your library for information about connecting from off-campus to online library resources other than the catalog. People all over the state of Illinois use the I-Share catalog.Because catalog usernames must be unique across the consortium of libraries, you might need to try more than one before you find a username that has not been taken by another user.Your library borrower ID might make a good username for this reason.
